SEVEN YEARS IN SCOTLAND!
On this day 7 years ago, I was arriving in Edinburgh, with my backpack full of hopes and dreams, and I am not going to lie it also came with loads of doubts and anxiety. I wasn't sure how long my Scottish adventure would last; I can't believe it's been 7 years already, it feels like it was yesterday.
So many things have happened to me during these past 7 years. I became fluent in English, and dealt with the various Scottish accents. I bought my first home (or as we call it here, my first hoose), that I am still renovating slowly but surely. I ran four half-marathons and my first marathon. I became an uncle for the first time. I climbed each and every of the seven hills of Edinburgh, and a few munros. And not later than 10 days ago, I officially became British/Scottish.
On a professional level, I learned so much since moving to Scotland. I have worked on different projects and industries: from online food ordering platforms to building societies, or from airline companies to energy providers. I worked with so many different technologies and ways of working, and loved to see them evolve and improve. I am so grateful to have worked with so many talented and inspiring people, who all helped me grow and, I hope, get better at doing my job.
Scotland and Edinburgh are without a doubt the best place to be, and I am looking forward to continuing this journey here in this amazing country and its capital, which I am so glad to call home!
