I RAN THE 2026 LONDON MARATHON!

Last weekend I ran the London Marathon in 6:21:30.

What an amazing race and party! People kept telling me “London is different” and I understand why now! This edition has been historic on so many levels: Sabastian Sawe (1:59:30) smashed the world record and with Yomif Kejelcha (1:59:41) became the first two men to run a marathon under 2h; Tigst Assefa (2:15:41) beat the women's world record; and with 59'830 finshers, London holds the world record of the largest number of finishers in a marathon. How impressive and inspiring!

I was hoping to beat my personal best time and to finally finish under the six-hour mark; but sadly the legs were not strong enough this time! That being said, I am still proud of my result.

You might have seen my previous posts about fundraising for The Ocean Cleanup, and I am pleased to report that we are very close to reaching the super ambitious goal to raise €420 to help them fight ocean plastic pollution (I will leave the link to the donation page in the first comment below.) This money will have a tremendous impact. Thank you all so much for your generosity, I will be forever grateful to those of you who have donated!

I'll finish this post with the best three signs from supporters I've seen along the route which made me smile: “you run better than the strait of Hormuz”, “you should have booked a Jet2 Holiday” and “The Devil Wear Strava”.
